Disaster Recovery as a Service from LCL Aalst

Diegem, 28 March 2017 - Uptime Elastix, hybrid cloud provider and part of the Cronos Group, now offers its cloud services from the LCL data centers in Diegem and Aalst. That gives Uptime Elastix the space that the company needs to broaden its cloud offering and meet its growth.

Uptime Elastix, the cloud business unit of Uptime Group, offers various cloud services to its customers: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). The company rents space for this in two LCL data centers. At the Diegem site, for example, they place the entire IT of a construction group in a cloud solution. From the LCL data center in Aalst, Uptime Elastix provides its customers with Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS).

"Our cloud revenue increased by 70 percent in 2016," says Erlend Schenkels, Cloud Business Manager at Uptime Elastix. “In order to support this growth and to continue to provide our customers with cloud services, we went looking for an extra data center. LCL is among the data center top in Belgium. Via their three locations in Belgium with one central point of contact, we can broaden our range and the data will remain in our country. The biggest advantage of our cooperation is the "carrier neutrality" of LCL, so we can work with different internet service providers, "says Schenkels. "In addition, the ISO certification of LCL is important to offer our customers sustainable and safe services with certainty."

Laurens van Reijen, Managing Director of LCL: “We are very satisfied with Uptime Elastix as a customer. The companies of the Uptime Group are very entrepreneurial. They pay a lot of attention to certification and training, and that fits well with the DNA of LCL. The extensive cloud offer and the fact that they have a complete offer within the Belgian borders is also important, certainly in the context of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). After all, companies need to know where their data is located. "
