In April 2020, LCL acquired its fourth data center site in Huizingen thanks to a partnership with Atos, and in June 2021 the data center company took over ENGIE Solutions' data center in Gembloux. All of this reflects the company’s ambitious growth. As commercial director, Baudouin Corlùy will promote the continued growth of LCL.
Joining forces and adding value
In his 28-year career, Mr Corlùy has always viewed marketing and sales as a single discipline. This is no different now. As he explains: ‘You cannot consider both components in isolation. Marketing and sales are complementary and should always strengthen one another. In practical terms, one of the things I want to do at LCL is develop a more sector-oriented approach. This will allow us to respond more quickly to market needs and develop customised services aligned with the day-to-day reality of each customer. This proactive approach will enable us to better support our customers. That's how we help them make the best decisions for their business.’
‘Moreover, as a Belgian data center specialist, LCL provides great added value for the customer," says Corlùy, with an air of determination. ‘I am firmly convinced that LCL's local focus is also a strength. Proximity to the customers and local control over their data, combined with our service guarantee, optimal security and flexibility, are a great asset.’
Customer focus and professionalism of LCL
Corlùy is very satisfied with his first few days at LCL. ‘There is a professional and very customer-oriented atmosphere within LCL,’, he says. ‘From my very first day working here, I’ve noticed that employees are involved in everything. This makes for a great team atmosphere. In addition, there is a real willingness to help the customer in the best possible way. You immediately notice that everyone is doing their best to contribute to the success of our customers and the growth of our company. That's just great!’
Mr Corlùy has more than 20 years’ management experience. After 16 years in various business development, marketing and strategy roles at Proximus, he spent 9 years at Agoria. He initially worked there as director for the ICT sector and then as commercial director of the entire organisation. He was also very active as a director in several ICT-related organisations.
Baudouin Corlùy is now 53 years old. LCL sees this as adding value to the company. Laurens van Reijen, Managing Director of LCL: ‘At LCL we attach great importance to having experience among our employees. With the recruitment of Baudouin Corlùy in the over-50 age group, we are benefitting from years of experience and expertise. This will help us continue our growth in the years to come.’
In his spare time, Mr Corlùy plays badminton and golf, and also enjoys cultural outings and reading.
