Video: What role does an independent data center play?

An independent (i.e. carrier-neutral and cloud-neutral) data center acts as a housing partner, and as such it takes care of the physical security of the servers and storage systems, guarantees the power supply, and ensures that customers are able to connect with the telecom operators and cloud providers of their choosing.

A hosting partner, by contrast, provides application services for customers (e.g. websites) on its servers, leases servers to customers, or provides cloud services. Its servers may be located at a data center, such as LCL.
